Today I will be writing on Lasik Surgery procedure as a result of the many requests and questions about the procedure from alot of my patients all across the globe.
Lasik Surgery, also known as Refractive surgery is a popular procedure many Healthcare travelers opt for in the course of their traveling. The procedure is usually preferred by patients who are tired of wearing their recommended glasses due to a number of reasons like sports, traveling and the likes. The procedure corrects these major vision problems
1. Near sightedness
2. Far Sightedness
How does it work?
Lasik surgery uses laser beam for the correction to be made. A thin flap in the cornea is created using either a microkeratome blade or a femtosecond laser. The surgeon folds back the flap, then removes some corneal tissue underneath using an excimer laser. The flap is then laid back in place, covering the area where the corneal tissue was removed.
